Q: Do I have to be in shape to start?

A: No, it's a common misconception that you have to be in shape to get in shape, but that's just not true. We'll work with you wherever you're at, and help you grow from there.​

Q: What is the Family Class?

A: We like to say that the family who kicks together, sticks together. Karate is the perfect family activity, and our unique program allows the whole family to work out, be challenged, and grow together, each at their own level and pace.

Q: How much do classes cost?

A: Our rates for each class can be viewed on the 'Membership' page. All of our classes are held twice a week.

​

Q: What makes it "Christian" Karate?

A: There are several unique aspects to our program. One difference is we focus on learning and applying Christian Character Qualities inside and outside of class, alongside teaching effective, real-world self defense. Our curriculum is clearly laid out in the Beginner and Advanced Logbooks, to help each student understand the path to blackbelt, and where they are on it.

Q: I have an injury/disability, can I still train? 

A: Always obtain your physician's approval before starting Karate, but we can accommodate a wide range of abilities and needs.

Q: How young can my child start Karate?

A: Children can start as young as age 4 in our Tiny Tiger's Program.

 

Q: What style of Karate do you teach?

A: We train Shotokan Karate, a Japanese style. We strive to maintain the highest technical and safety standards possible, and are a member club with the USA National Karate-do Federation, the governing body for Olympic Karate in the US. Q: Do you require a contract?

A: No, membership is month to month with absolutely no hidden contracts or fees.

Q: Is there any equipment required?

A: Yes, there is required equipment.  You can purchase everything you need up front, or as you go. Talk to one of our instructors for your specific program's requirements! Not all gear is created equal, so for insurance reasons, we require a specific type of safety gear which must be purchased through us. You can purchase your gear over the first few months, or all up front.
